The Tusky Dugout

Owned and operated by Mark & Denise Smith and their children:  Emily (Smith) Love, Grace Smith, and Andrew Smith.  We are proud to be lifelong residents of Tuscarawas County and support our local school districts.  We want to share our  field of dreams with the community to deliver ice cream, treats, and more.  

 This year we are celebrating 6 years of service. Come visit our field of dreams and let's play ball!

You may hear people say, "ice cream is just ice cream, it all tastes the same!"  But here at The Tusky Dugout we can contest to that.  

Our soft serve and hand dipped ice creams are all selected to fit our customers needs.  For example, our soft serve ice cream contains a high butter fat content, which results in a more flavorful and creamy texture than what most ice cream shops sell.  Our hand dipped ice cream is various selections from premium ice cream brands that are are delicious!  

The taste speaks for itself...

Are you watching your niece or nephew play ball across the street?  Are you visiting the park with your little one?  Or are you simply just driving through town on a hot summers day?    This is an experience you don't want to miss out on.  

As a family, when we go out to eat we want to enjoy the experience.  Therefore, we cohesively decided that we wanted to make The Tusky Dugout more than a good product.  We wanted to make it an experience for families and friends.  If you ever get the chance to stop by you will see our picnic tables where you can sit and enjoy our yummy treats with family and friends.  Since the Tuscarawas River is less than a mile away, we will even get some kayakers that stop midday to get there ice cream fix in!  

Our field of dreams wouldn't be up and running without our wonderful team!  

We love our team members and look at them as our family as well.  Each month in the summer you will see on Facebook which team members are nominated as the "MVP" of the month.  These team members are voted in by everyone that works at the Dugout.  

After the season comes to an end, we usually have a Tusky Dugout party to celebrate our team members for the prior season.
